Cultus O. Pearson Honored
The St. Tammany Parish Council honored Cultus O. Pearson of Lacombe on Dec. 6 for his Bronze Star award, which he recently received for ombat service in the Army during World War II. Councilman Al Hamauei, 7th District, presented Pearson a certificate of recognition during the council meeting in Mandeville.
Army Sgt. 1st Class Michael Croft presented the medal to Pearson during a ceremony recently hosted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Davis-Moran Memorial Post 8290. He also recently received the WWII Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge First Award and the WWII honorable service lapel button.
After 65 years, his eligibility for the awards was finally determined through the research of Rolf Klingenberg, service officer for the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs in Slidell.
